Welcome to the JR Warrior Wrestling Web site!
The Jr. Warrior Wrestling program is designed to develop the fundamental of wrestling to the boys and girls who participate. The program strives to instill sportsmanship, character, discipline, teamwork, citizenship, loyalty, physical well being, as well as promote the importance of school work. The Jr. Warrior Wrestling program promotes qualities to prepare children for productive, successful, healthy lives.
Our founder and head coach is Rudy Weirich. He is also the Woodhaven High School Varsity Wrestling Coach. In high school Rudy lettered in wrestling all four years and was captain for two years. He was highly recruited by Head Coach Jerry Klien of Olivet College, but due to a life threatening illness college was disallowed. Rudy returned to the mat in 96/97 and placed 3rd in folkstyle and 2nd in freestlye at the AAU Grand Nationals. In 1992 he began coaching AAU. He coached his son in AAU to; two state championships, two time regional champion, 4th at AAU nationals. He also coached his son in high school where he was two time league champ, one time district champ, and seventh place in states. Rudy Jr. is second in all time wins at Woodhaven High School with a career record of 156 wins and 32 losses. Coach Rudy works a full time job, he is in his 6th season as a Coach in the Woodhaven School system, and he still finds time to run the Jr. Warrior Wrestling Club.
Kim is the glue that holds the club together. When she is not working on her main job as the star of ABC's Desperate Housewives, She is the administrative assistant and CEO of this Wrestling Club!!!
